The LFS series are especially developed for large-diameter and short giant plate wok pieces. The LFS is the most suitable machine for these types of wok pieces and has the advantages of both high efficiency and economy.
Focuses on the machining features of large and heavy duty work pieces. The bed uses the 30 and 60 degree corner design being able to bear heavy cutting loading as well as keeping the axis straight.
Uses Meehanite GB30, which has been electric melted, annealing treated, completely stress relieved and is one-piece constructed to ensure the best stability. The bed is of special hardened ribbed construction, each ribbed flat is made of apertures and interlaced making a strong cage construction. Suitable for the use in long beds, eliminating distortion in casting and reducing the vibration during cutting.
The bed as gone through CNC precise machining, annealing treatment and proper stress relief. After induction heating treatment and precisely ground to HRC 72-75, is then laser inspected to maintain linearity.
X and Z Axis all use servo motors and transmit to the ballscrew through precision coupling to minimise backlash and make for excellent positioning accuracy.
Rear slash guard with front chip guard and chuck guard prevent chips and coolant spreading, making larger work piece loading and unloading very convenient.
Headstock
The headstock is a high steel cage structure, uses Meehanite cast-iron, is heat and annealing treated to ensure spindle concentricity and the parallelism of the bearings.
The spindle is made with highly stiff alloy steel and has been micro-alloyed. The spindle nose, sleeve point, bearings and the other gear position have been high frequency heat treated to ensure stiffness. After matching the spindle and the gear a dynamic test is applied to ensure stability during high speed turning.
Uses front double taper roller bearings, heavy loading taper bearings and rear big roller bearings which are durable for heavy work pieces to maintain high accuracy.
Especially meeting the demands of high torque spindle motors, the transmitting gears in the headstock use a module #6 design and special alloyed steel is used as the material. After micro alloy and carbonized treatment they are precisely ground to JIS1 class precision.
Adapts 4/step hydraulic auto speed changing.
Circulated motor forced lubrication system is able to lubricate the bearings and gear faces.
Movable chuck guard increases security and makes it easy to fit the chuck.
Various oil gauges in the front for viewing the pressure output.
Spindle disc brake shortens the time to stop heavy work pieces and increases efficiency and security.
Carriage
The material of the carriage is the same as the bed adopting Meehanite cast-iron. GB300, and has been electric smelted and stress relieved. Extra wide box way type, cross slide and larger contact faces can distribute cutting completely and will effectively avoid the tool shaking during high hardness cutting.
The contact face with the bead is attached with extra durable Turcite B wipers, which reduces friction and prolongs the durability of the bed.
Cast in one piece, X-axis servo motor base, through precise coupling, transmits the lead screw directly, minimizing backlash and providing the best position accuracy.
Two work stairs are installed on the two sides of the carriage to provide convenience for the operator to set the tooling as well as loading and unloading the work pieces.
The chip guard in front of the turret is movable with the carriage and the cross slide right and left.
Turret
Equipped with horizontal 4 way auto/change 350mm x 350mm Hydraulic turret. Large tools and clamping face is large as well, especially for heavy cutting. As for facing and internally cutting, it can be equipped with auxiliary tool holders to increase efficiency. High pressure and 4 coolant tubes to cool the tools and remove the chips rapidly. Tooling changes are close and so shorten the time needed for this.
Control
Fanuc Oi-TC is the standard control with a user friendly control panel. The control is designed as arm type which allows it to rotate 120degrees and get close to the work piece. It is very convenient for checking the tooling and observing the machine situation.
Note:
1. Machine equipped with different turrets will lead to differences on X and Z axis traverse.
2. Machine equipped with different motors will lead to differences on spindle speed.
3. Different tailstock types will affect Z axis travel.
4. Machine length does not include the length of chip conveyor.
